The Beginning

It all begins with an idea.

Taking the Thoroughbred world by storm, California Chrome became a legend in 2014 when he won the first two legs of the Triple Crown. In 2016, among his multiple victories, he won the Dubai World Cup coining the phrase “It’s alchemy in Dubai, Chrome turns to gold.” Proving his physical durability, California Chrome continued to race into his six year old year earning over $14.5M. He won numerous awards including two Vox Populi and two Eclipse Horse of the Year Awards. California Chrome’s strength as a racehorse transferred to his prowess as a young stud settling several hundred mares “in foal” during three seasons at Taylor Made Farm and two in Chile. His loyal followers were nicknamed “Chromies” and when his racing career ended, the devotion remained. For many fans, he is The People’s Horse. In mid November of 2019, it was announced that California Chrome sold to JS Company of Japan and will now live at Arrow Stud on the island of Hokkaido. Many Chromies are deeply heartbroken. This page was created to help Chromies around the world feel a sense of purpose. Our focus is to preserve his legacy here in the United States.
